Already hungry for lunch? Us, too. Instead of trying to drive across town in your short break or run home for disappointing leftovers, try out the recently launched Waitr app!

Waitr currently delivers food from over forty area restaurants, over half of which are unique to Jackson, and the list is growing. Not only that, but their app also offers an easy-to-operate group ordering option that allows for a special and convenient way for multiple people to grab a bite in a hurry.

But who says lunch at the office has to mean basic sandwiches, mediocre pizza, and unimpressive salads? Spice it up and impress your coworkers with these ten one-of-a-kind dishes that are hard to find in Jackson—all available at your fingertips through the Waitr app!

Fish Nuggets
Baker Bros. BBQ

Ever craved fish sticks while at work? No shame. While Baker Bros.’ barbecue is tasty for sure, they’re also the only place in town that makes fish nuggets. Grab a few apps’ worth and share with the office!

Hot Chicken
The Blacksmith

Nashville may be the birthplace of hot chicken, but The Blacksmith has brought their own version to West Tennessee, so if you’re a fan, hit up the Waitr app ASAP. The Blacksmith is a great group ordering option if your team is feeling like a little something on the fancier side. (Who says you can’t get steak delivered to the office?)

Stuffed Pizza
Carrico’s Pizza

Sure, Jackson has its handful of pizza places, but only Carrico’s has stuffed pizza. If you’re more of a calzone person than a pie lover, you’re bound to be a fan of this unique creation, available stuffed either with veggies or meat (no judgment either way). These pizzas are huge, too, so make sure to get your coworkers in on the order.

Jerk Chicken
Jamaican & African Cuisine

If you’re a fan of the spicier things in life, then Jamaican & African Cuisine is your place. Not only is their jerk chicken 100% authentic, but it also comes atop the tastiest, sweetest rice you’ve ever had. Pair that with some ox tail soup, and you’re bound to have the oddest (but probably best-tasting) meal in the office.

Baklava
Mediterranean Cuisine

Ayo, sweet tooths! Have you tried this traditional, honey-soaked Middle Eastern dessert? It’s unlike anything you’ll find in Jackson, and a tray makes for a perfect afternoon snack for your team. (We wouldn’t blame you for grabbing some gyros and falafel while you’re at it, too.)

Raw Juice
Quench Juice

Okay, fine, most of the stuff on this list is probably not the best for you, but you won’t ever feel bad about juice! This is a great option for an office doing a healthy living plan together, and Quench offers nearly twenty totally unique recipes!

Beignets
Rock’n Dough Pizza + Brewery

Any Louisiana transplants out there? If you’re missing New Orleans-style “donuts,” try Rock’n Dough’s beignets—they’re pretty legit! Definitely the best sweet pick-me-up in town to share with the office.

Fried Oreos
Saucy Jake’s Street Food

Beware of the dirty looks you’ll be getting from everyone in the office who’s on a diet. You know this is the junk food of your dreams, but make sure to try out plenty of the other one-of-a-kind items Saucy Jake’s offers, such as their Philly Cheesesteak Egg Roll.

Chicken Tikka Masala
Sizzler Cuisine of India

Sizzler is Jackson’s only Indian restaurant—yep. So you know exactly where to go if you start craving some chicken tikka masala (or really any other Indian food; this one’s just my fave). Sizzler is great about having lots of spiciness options, so if you have a coworker who’s interested in trying but a little timid, ask for mild.

Mexican Cheesecake
Tekila Mexican Bar & Grill

Been meaning to try out this new local spot? Don’t skip dessert! There may be plenty of Mexican restaurants in Jackson, but this is the only one with cheesecake, and it won’t disappoint. Splurge for a coworker’s birthday…or hide a slice just for you under your desk.
