Any Nick Cannon fans out there? Then head to the Oman Arena on July 5 for a night of comedy with Nick’s cast members, including Emmanuel Hudson, Shawty wat my name is, Jacob Williams, and Mope Williams. Plus, get a chance to interact with the cast during a skit at the end of the night!

30th Annual Summer Celebration Lawn & Garden Show

Explore: Gospel Music through the Ages
Jackson Sings the Gospel

Date: Wednesday-Saturday, July 10-13

Location: Carl Perkins Civic Center (400 South Highland Avenue)
Cost: $20-$22 for individual night (outside and upper sections); $100-$120 for all four nights (main floor)

If you’re a fan of gospel, this concert series is bound to be a treat. With nearly twenty different musical groups performing, there’s something for everyone, so pick a night with your favorite musicians, or get a ticket for the full four-day experience!

4th Annual 731Day Water Balloon Fight

It’s back—everyone’s favorite end-of-summer competition: the annual 731Day Water Balloon Fight! We’re so excited to have Town & Country Realtors sponsor again this year and to return to the beloved Casey Jones Village for this event. The 7,310-balloon showdown begins at 3:30 P.M., but make sure to get there early to grab a spot and enjoy the live music, snow cones, and more. And don’t forget: Porchfest starts at 5:00 P.M., and more 731Day fun can be found here.

Experience: A Night of All Things ABBA
Mamma Mia!

Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Katie Howerton moved to Jackson in 2011 to study Graphic Design and Drawing at Union University. She discovered Our Jackson Home in January 2015 and used it as a guinea pig for her senior design project, creating the first issue of Our Jackson Home: The Magazine. After graduating she was given leadership over Our Jackson Home at theCO, where she now runs the blog, designs the magazine, and coordinates events. She lives with her husband Jordan and daughter November in Midtown and loves her community at City Fellowship Baptist Church.
