Hub City Brewing is starting a new trivia tradition in downtown Jackson, and this month’s show of choice is Game of Thrones. If you’re a fan, make sure to come out on January 16 for a few drinks and your chance at some fun prizes.

Clue on Stage

Date: Friday, January 10 - Sunday, January 12
Time: Friday & Saturday 7:00 P.M. (with a 5:30 P.M. dinner); Sunday: 2:00 P.M.
Location: USJ Blankenship Theatre (232 McClellan Road)
Cost: $8 for students and seniors; $12 for adults; prices range for dinner

There’s nothing better on a cold night than a good mystery, and the students at USJ are ready to entertain. Catch them in the iconic Clue on stage, and make the evening even more special with the preceding dinner on Friday and Saturday. But don’t forget to get a babysitter as this show contains mature content.

Explore: The Process of Creating a Mural
Public Art Workshop

Murals are popping up all around Jackson, and if you’re an artist, it’s time to connect with the Arts Council to learn how your creative visions can become realities in our community. Make a new year’s resolution to finish that proposal, then join for this January 23 workshop to learn what steps to take next.

West TN Plant-Based Potluck

Cost: Free—just bring a dish!

Vegetarian life doesn’t have to be bland and boring, so if you’re looking for some new recipes, make sure to come out to the West TN Plant-Based Potluck at Samuel T. Bryant Distillery. Just bring a dish (no meat products, of course), come meet fellow vegetarians, and leave with lots of new strategies on how to live a healthy life.


Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Katie Howerton moved to Jackson in 2011 to study Graphic Design and Drawing at Union University. She discovered Our Jackson Home in January 2015 and used it as a guinea pig for her senior design project, creating the first issue of Our Jackson Home: The Magazine. After graduating she was given leadership over Our Jackson Home at theCO, where she now runs the blog, designs the magazine, and coordinates events. She lives with her husband Jordan and daughter November in Midtown and loves her community at City Fellowship Baptist Church.
