meet Mykie Tipler

Mykie Tipler is a Junior Fellow representing North Side High School. He is student athlete who is passionate about science, performing arts and visual arts as well as track. Mykie sees his superpower as being his artistic imagination and is interested in a career with children ranging from a pediatric nurse to a pre-school or elementary school teacher. Having been positively impacted by his teachers, he believes deeply that Jackson’s biggest strength is its teachers. As many of the Fellows, Mykie recognizes the difficulty and challenges presented by violence in the community. Other challenges he feels are difficult barriers include the difficulties and access around a college education. He highlights that we are threatened by ignoring problems around us in the community and that this is one of the grand challenges we face together.
