Back in 2015 when Our Jackson Home was only a year old, local musician Bo Kitzman and our hometown star Lauren “LOLO” Pritchard approached us about the idea of hosting a laid-back holiday concert in the historic New Southern Hotel as a way to bring the community together during the most wonderful time of the year. We were proud to be a part of it, and the crowd exceeded our expectations greatly, made up of young and old, friends and strangers, current residents and those home for the holidays.
Since then, we’ve continued the tradition and used it as a way to raise money for RIFA’s Snack Backpack program to help feed hungry kids in our community. It’s an awesome opportunity to enjoy local talent, meet your neighbors, and support an incredible non-profit.
This year, we’ll be hosting the show on Friday, December 14, at the Hamilton Performing Arts Center at the University of Memphis at Lambuth. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M., and the show will begin at 7:00 P.M, featuring Coopertheband, Forked Deer Homeschool Parade, The Jukes, LOLO, and The Skeleton Krew. A minimum donation of $10 is required for admission for those 12+.
Invite your family and friends to join in on this Jackson tradition, and make sure to tag your posts and photos with #OJHholidayshow!
