731Day: About
731Day is a celebration of Jackson and all those who are proud to be a part of West Tennessee! Every July 31 (7/31) we choose to enjoy the beauty of our city and the people who make it better every day.
Join us Monday, July 31, for our second annual celebration of 731Day! Featuring A Night of Storytelling, downtown bar crawl, #OJHshop pop-up, and Jackson's biggest water balloon fight, as well as plenty of local businesses offering special 731Day deals. Plus, we will be launching our August-November journal (Vol. 3, Issue 2: Day & Night) as well as some new merch. The best way you can get involved is by offering a special #731day deal for your business to mobilize people throughout our community and to support all things local.

Each year, we gather together on July 31 to recognize Jackson, Tennessee, and all that makes it special. 731Day is not about Our Jackson Home but rather about what OJH stands for: "celebrating the people and the stories of the city we all love." An essential aspect of the 731Day celebration is music. We have many talented local musicians in our area, and we'll be lucky to hear their tunes in person at our first-ever Porchfest.
This Tennessee summer heat is almost more than we can bear, but at least there's lots going around in town to keep us busy and happy! From fireworks and 5k's to music and theatre, July will be a month to remember. Here are the events we hope to see you at!
Our second annual celebration of 731Day was an absolute blast, and Shelby Kee and Katie Howerton have put together this highlight video to show you how much fun we have! Go ahead and mark your calendars for next year; Tuesday, July 31 will come faster than you think! Featuring "Rebels" by Coopertheband.
It's that special time of year again: 731Day! Of course, as with any holiday, you'll be looking for the perfect soundtrack to boost your celebration. That's why I compiled a playlist of thirty-one songs, all by artists and bands who call Tennessee their home. What better way to enjoy your hometown than hearing the music that your neighbors have created? Now you can support local music along with the local businesses participating in 731Day.
2016 has been full of a lot of Our Jackson Home firsts and the celebration of growth throughout our second year. Check out this stop motion by Katie Howerton highlighting some of our favorite moments. Featuring "Wolves" by Asha Moody of Small Town Big Sound.
Our first annual celebration of 731Day was a blast, and we're so glad that our old friend Trevor Masterson captured so many of its best moments on video. Check out this recap of some of this awesome day, and start getting ready for next year!
